I have decided to use AP and have cancelled my appt in Chennai.
I have an appointment at Kolkata on the 11th. Scheduled to fly back to US on the 26th. Considering Martin Luther king Jr day it will be 9 working days. After seeing the PIMS delays, I am seriously considering return back on AP. Cannot take the risk of delaying the flight as I dont have vacations to hang around and wait for PP.

Banking system of the entire countries start to fail (Iceland, Latvia, Hungry...). What happens next is anybody's guess, but we will be collateral damage, mine and your savings will be eroded by diminished buying power due to currency printed to bail out the fundamentally flawed system.

People feel that they deserve everything without having to pay it back and everyone who is better off must be evil. I am not saying we initiate a strike or something like that, just gather together to have some (ideally at the same time) rallies to get media's attention. It even can be done at weekend. Say we can have 1K demonstrators at five big cities each across the nation - it must be something.
Afetr all, we are legal immigrants and our voices should be able to get delivered LOUDLY.
The only thing concerns me is the traffic of this web site, I sincerely hope someone can forward my post (not necessarily the original one, a better version) to some immigrant web sites so we can work together.
For me, I live in NJ, I have no problem driving to NYC on a Saturday morning to tell people what has been haunting us and is going to be haunting us for a long while.
BTW, imagine such kind of rallies happen three times a month - it's gonna blow!
We are SO DAMN OVERLOOKED!

Went for first interview on 4th Jan. Got confirmation email today 15th Jan 2008. Got this email about an hour back.

Please drop the following documents off at one of the VFS locations listed below.
1. Yellow pending letter
2. Passport
3. Envelope provided by the consulate (yellow, blue or green color)
4. Print out of this e-mail

Good luck to all those who are still awaiting confirmation. There is no use calling the VFS people, as they have no information. But it helps to know from other candidates on the time frame. So other people who have got the email, please post your experiences here for the benefit of all.

I couldn't believe. Got CPO and Welcoming New Resident emails for me and my son after 10 years.

Got the Text message on my mobile on Thursday Oct 22, at 7:45 pm. But didn't see it until 23rd morning at 9:00 am. Went to church on Thursday morning, and Friday morning, and prayed ardently. Came out of the church, and just opened my cell phone, and saw the text message from uscis saying "Your case # is updated. check 'My case status' on USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov)... ".
Got the email also on Thursday evening, but saw only on Friday morning.
Mine is at TSC, spouse's moved to local USCIS a few months back, for an interview.
Went to local uscis at 3:35, but it was closed. Hope my spouse's case also approved soon by the end of this week.

Just my 2 cents... Don't think USA is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of USCIS.
Do you think that by sending flower to USCIS will force them to make EB2/EB3 current for 2005/2006/2007 guys??
Please try to understand their problem.
Also India is the great. Why don't you guys just think that India is your home country where you are born and brought up. Why you people can't just wait and watch?? If nothing happens to the so called GC, then why don't you think to pack up and go back to India???????
My sincere request, please don't do rally, you might be arrested......you never know what they can do..... Don't you think that, it is better to go back to India rather than being embarrassed here in US???

Opened SR on 8/3 and InfoPass appointment on 8/9 (useless)
Received SR response on 8/11 saying the application is in review.
Seems like SR works!!! Finally something that works!!!
My only confusion now is my application status - "On August 13, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
I do not know what ADIT means? Did anyone get similar response? What are the next steps from here in your experience? Thank you for the help in advance.

I am planning to go to the USCIS office tomorrow for media coverage. Any one in the DC area willing to join? This would be between 10 am and 1 pm. send me a pm with your name, number for more info. I really want to hear from the people who were ready for the protest in DC. This is a good opportunity to explain what has happened and the root cause of the issue.
I am planning to be there little after 11 AM with Flowers. hey, how about getting a car full of flowers delivering by our own hands? Now that I am thinking about it, in stead of people sending $32 online we should have bought the flowers locally (using paypal). Is it too late?
