Hello Pappu,
Fantsatic news. I think we have to unite for this big event - this is the BEST time to get our voice heard. If illegal immigrants are voicing why not We? Most of us are here for atleast close to TEN years and contributed for this economy. PERIOD.

I have a I131 (AP) renewal question. My first original AP was issued on Nov/2007. I understand that it expires in 1 year( I do not have the AP doc right in front of me right now). Also I traveled to Mexico in May 08 using AP and was stamped on AP as paroled until May 2009.
Is there a 120 day rule to file AP renewal (like the one for EAD)? Do I need to file for renewal of AP now (120 day before) or close to May 2009? I have filed for EAD renewal 1 month back and am still waiting for approval, will it cause any problems if I file for renewal while EAD renewal is pending?

I took from AAA for 250K. Monthly premium is $20. Initially they said it will be around $13. But after medical test they raised to $20. They asked me whether I applied for my GC.

I am thinking of buying a home without waiting for GC approval. I am EB3 I with PD 2006. No hopes of GC in near future. Just want to see the trend....

Thanks Belmont for support, as explained in other thread for some guy who is beating me or people like us, it's a mistake/accident. It can happen with ones mistake or without mistake (Car accident).. Some one get caught and some one don't... as example I knew many people who steal/use office supplies in the company they work...

If you have kids then its easy to move to India before the Kid goes to 2nd or 3rd grade ie before they are 8 or 9 yrs old. After that there is no way you can take a kid out of school in US and expect them to be competitive in India.
This is based on US public school system standards (if you are homeschooling its different). I had friends when I was in India who had lived all their lives in Middle Eastern countries and even though they had studied in Indian system they felt it difficult to compete there.

I am not sure if you are aware of NAFTA, it was a trade aggrement that was suppose to be the equivalent of EU in terms of trade. It failed because low-cost manufacturing took flight from Mexico to China and similar scenario for software from US/Canada to India. This trend is not going to reverse in next few years. Exceptions will always be there.
Service sector already accounts for 40 to 50% of Indian GDP and will keep growing. Based on these facts it is obvious that long term economic prospects are better in India/ China, since you are looking from your children's perspective.
Also, you mention issues about Indian education system. I disagree. There are problems with American education system also. You can't generalize. If your kids are smart they can get into better colleges like IITs etc. I think you are confusing the issue about adaptability with good future prospects.
One last thing about issues. It would be good to let your kids decide what skils they are interested in learning, most Indian parents live their own dreams through their kids. Just a suggestion :)

1. 3 + 3 degree will not be approved under EB2. ( This is in response to my question about using my Bsc + MCA. My current role requires Master's degree or Bachelor's + exp. I do not want to use the experience (9 years) gained from my current employer. So I suggested we could use my master's degree + 4+ years of experience that I have before joining my current employer. )

Check ICICI. I think it is called a NRE account. You can fund it in Dollars and Rupees and it could be repatriated in Dollars. So just open the account and have them deposit the monies India, you can draw it here. This kind of account is for NRI's who earn an income in India and want to access it here.
There is a limit I think but it must be like $25K..

Assuming @gc28262 doesnt know this because of his personal experiences and exposure, do you guys think *all* consulting companies charge their employees money for the Visas? I know personally only those who doesnt charge. One of the consultants I know strives to differentiate himself from these. He provides benefits like in a large company.
One thing guys, if you know abuse and are silent because of any reason (could be you want your spouses/brother's H1Bs to go through or any reason), you are all guilty. So, dont try to be naive..
I dont want to tell anything about L1B because I dont know if there is anything illegal in anything companies are doing. First this is no slave labor. It is a free will employment. Just because somebody is ready to do some work for less, legally, you should not be worried too much. Instead of worrying about billing, try to upgrade yourselves to become better in skills, capabilities etc...your market value will automatically be upheld if not become more. Being an L1B myself, I dont see any single day I felt like I was abused or I am cheated by my company.

Your case is eligible the chances are high that you'll get it, if dates remain current. And as folks have mentioned, 180 days rule applies. Your infopass will tell you clearly what's happening to your NC but that is immaterial.
I realized your original question was about FP and its expiry and not about NC. So I withdrew my original post to remind you of the 180 day rule which says where the application is otherwise approvable and the FBI name check request has been pending for more than 180 days, the adjudicator shall approve the I-485 and proceed with card issuance.

But that rule wasn't followed at the end of FY2008 (Aug/Sept 2008).
In fact, some customer service reps even mentioned something to the effect of this law would be enforced only from Feb.2009 or something to that effect.
